Suitable
for older/taller trees. The synthetic rubber tree ties are designed
and manufactured in Australia. Although the staking of young trees
is very important, the chafing of the tree trunk by the top of the
stake can be a serious problem.
This
can be overcome simply by securing the tree to the top of the stake
with a soft, black rubber tree tie using a ‘figure 8’ method as
shown in the above picture. They are fully UV stabilised,
made from a very durable “rubber” and can be used in many different
applications. Simply place around the tree and stake, push
the end of the tie through the slot, then tighten accordingly.
As
the tree grows the ties can be adjusted at your discretion. Because
the rubber is soft and ‘stretchy’ it easily allows for trunk expansion.
Also, the use of a rubber tree tie at the top of the stake reduces
the problem of the tree being torn away from the stake in strong
winds. The medium tie (AE12A) is 170mm long and 4mm in diameter
and comes in packs of 250. The large tie (AE12B) is 310mm
long and 4mm in diameter and comes in packs of 100.
